Rob Maple is a Senior Scientist in core Sequencing at EIT, where he specialises in developing and optimising Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflows. His work plays a crucial role in advancing the company’s cutting-edge genomics research, focusing on assay development, data analysis, and ensuring high-quality sequencing outputs supporting EIT Platforms.
Before joining EIT, Rob was a researcher in the Dean Lab at the John Innes Centre, where he specialised in plant molecular biology, particularly the interplay between transcription and chromatin dynamics. There, he pioneered innovative sequencing strategies tailored to complex biological questions, expanding the lab’s capabilities in RNA and chromatin analysis and driving new insights into gene regulation.
Rob holds a PhD in Life Sciences from the University of Warwick and has extensive expertise in molecular biology, sequencing technologies, and genome editing. His research has encompassed gene regulation, RNA biology, and chromatin dynamics, equipping him with a strong technical and analytical skill set in modern genomics.
Outside of work, he enjoys high-intensity training, hiking, and spending time outdoors.
