Neil Parkes

As the UX designer for the Pathogen Program at EIT, Neil specialises in shaping the User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI). Neil is passionate about collaborating with users to create software and designs that are not only highly functional but also intuitive and enjoyable to use. His primary goal is to ensure that the products developed by EIT Pathogen Laboratory are user-friendly and optimised for both experience and interface.

Neil bring over 20 years of design expertise, with a career that has spanned diverse creative disciplines, including print, marketing, web, and large-format design. For the past 11 years, Neil has focused on crafting exceptional user experiences and interfaces, transforming insights into impactful designs.

Neil thrives on the versatility of his craft and the ability to adapt to different industries. By employing data-driven insights and user-centred research, he aims to understand user needs deeply and deliver designs that are practical, usable, and delightful.

Neil holds a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design from the University of Bedfordshire and has earned numerous certifications in UX and UI design.

Beyond EIT, Neil is an avid martial artist and assistant instructor at a local Kung Fu club, taking great joy in mentoring students as they hone their skills and improve. As a father of two, his happiest moments are exploring the countryside with my family, sharing laughter, and embracing the fun of life. Additionally, he has been a motorbike enthusiast for over two decades, relishing the freedom of the open road in all weathers.
