Erwin is Product Manager for the AI & Robotics Institute at EIT. Part of the Applied Machine Learning team at EIT, led by Matej, he contributes to accelerating the Health & Life Sciences Humane Endeavour and building bridges across disciplines and teams.

Originally from France, he previously worked at McKinsey & Company, helping Life Sciences companies around the world define their AI strategies and accelerate R&D by integrating cutting-edge AI algorithms and structuring their data ecosystems.

Before that, he worked at Life Science consulting boutiques in Paris, led research on space motion sickness for the French Space Agency, and explored neural calcium control using lasers at Boston University. He also holds a PhD in Neuroscience from Paris, where his research focused on gaze stabilisation — the mechanism that allows people to read emails on bumpy bus rides.

Outside of science and technology, he enjoys solving problems in 3D while rock climbing, experimenting with ceramics (especially raku firing), and exploring Japan with his partner.
