Charlene Gong

Charlene is a User Researcher in the Pathogen Program at EIT. She uses a variety of methods to deeply understand how researchers, clinicians, and public health professionals across diverse contexts interact with pathogen diagnostic and monitoring tools. She discovers diverse user needs and provides actionable insights to shape product development.

Charlene has previously worked in academic and clinical research, diagnostic neuropsychology, psychometrics R&D, and data analytics. She focused on solving complex problems by understanding human behaviours and motivations through ​psychological sciences. Charlene enjoys working in agile multidisciplinary teams, and values triangulating data from various sources and translating them into clear, actionable recommendations.

Charlene holds a Master’s degree in Applied Clinical Neuropsychology from the University of Bristol and a First Class Honours degree in Psychology from the University of Newcastle (Australia). With two publications, her academic research focused on cognitive factors in decision-making.

Outside of work, Charlene is a plant collector and enjoys various sports. She also loves travelling and experiencing different cultures and cuisines.
