Aska Matsunaga is the Medical Science Operations Lead at EIT. She is responsible for the strategic development and implementation of medical projects and clinical infrastructure, designed to enhance global healthcare initiatives. Her role focuses on leading efforts to optimise healthcare processes through integration of innovative technologies, and establish robust frameworks to scaffold the transformation of medical sciences. She is passionate about shifting the dial from reactive to proactive and preventative healthcare.  

Prior to EIT, Aska dedicated over a decade to front line and managerial roles across London NHS Trusts, spanning substance use and mental health, research, cancer, transformation, and business management. She is also an accredited Coach Practitioner with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council, and first-class honours graduate in Applied Psychology from the University of Kent.  

Aska’s career comes full circle returning to Oxford, where she grew up. She enjoys dog walks with her sidekick, Suki, hosting a good dinner party, and has a passion for wellbeing-led interior design.
