Senior Director of Economics

Professor Andrew Scott

Andrew Scott is Senior Director of Economics at EIT, overseeing the economic analysis across the Institute’s Humane Endeavours. He is a Professor of Economics at London Business School and a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research.

His research focuses on longevity and an ageing society and has been widely published in leading journals in economics and health. His work is extensively and regularly covered across a range of global media and his writing, research and teaching have received multiple awards. His global best-seller, The 100-Year Life, has sold over a million copies and his most recent book, The Longevity Imperative, was shortlisted for the Financial Times-Schroders Business Book of the Year award.

Andrew previously held positions at All Souls, Oxford University, the London School of Economics and Harvard University. He was Managing Editor for the Royal Economic Society’s Economic Journal and Non-Executive Director for the UK’s Financial Services Authority 2009-2013. He has acted as an advisor to a range of institutions, including H.M.Treasury and the Bank of England, and is currently on the advisory board of the UK’s Office for Budget Responsibility.

He has a MA is from Oxford, MSc from the London School of Economics and DPhil from Oxford University.
