Marek is an interdisciplinary research enthusiast who is interested in Mechanistic Interpretability, Bayesian ML, and HPC. He has a strong background in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Deep Learning, specifically Neural Machine Translation and Uncertainty Quantification.
Marek won the Area Chair Award from the Association for Computational Linguistics (AACL) and the Best Paper Award at AfricaNLP International Conference on Learning Representations (ICLR) Workshop. He has published first-author papers at AACL, ICLR Workshop, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) ‘Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems’ journal. He was a non-first paper author at Nations of the Americas Chapter of the Association for Computational Linguistics (NAACL). Marek has spoken at the Supercomputing Frontiers Europe 2020 and Supercomputing Frontiers Europe 2021 conferences and was a finalist of the Asia Student Supercomputer Challenge 2021 in Shenzhen, China and was a finalist of student cluster competitions at the SC20 virtual conference, ISC20 conference in Frankfurt, Germany and at the SC19 conference in Denver, USA.
